Thoughts for October 2008

Want to find out more about the team at Ruby Red HQ?

Temperatures may be dropping outside but things are definitely heating up at Ruby Red HQ as we put the finishing touches to our new-season range of organic skincare delights. Martine has finished formulating and is now previewing the range with all our lovely retailers , as well as wrapping up in her winter warmers and going on Autumnal walks – see picture to left! Mike is unleashing his inner ‘mad scientist’ and is mixing up a storm in the workshop to order to get your organic goodies ready in time for Christmas. Meanwhile, Natalie is delving into her little black book and causing a splash with all the journalists. Don’t they look gorgeous in the picture at the bottom of this page? In fact there’s so much going on, we’ve decided to start our very own Ruby Red blog to keep you updated with all the goings-on of the Ruby Red team. From mad squirrel dashes to what’s for lunch, it’s all going to be there.

Christmas is coming
Because we love making gorgeous gifts we’re obviously very excited about the festive season at Ruby Red. After all – it’s our chance to really show off our Organic Boxes of Gorgeousness , these beautiful gift sets presented in lovely recycled boxes, handcrafted by a co-operative in Nepal. So why wait for big queues at the high street shops later? Get in someone special’s Christmas good books and buy a lovely gift for them today at our online shop right now. See – that’s one person off the list already.

Ruby Red hits the headlines (again)
If you’re a true fan, who has been a supporter of Ruby Red from day one then congratulations – you’ve obviously got your finger on the pulse! After being highlighted by Vogue earlier on in the year, Marie Claire online took the hint and made our Ruby Red Organic Box of Calming Gorgeousness a ‘beauty buy of the day’ in September (see our Press page for more). We’ve always had wonderful feedback from our customers and are pleased that the glossies are continuing to catch on…

Facebook
If you’re an early bird who’s already got Christmas all wrapped up then we want to hear all about it! Post pics of your ready-wrapped pressies for Xmas 08 up on our Facebook fan page and we’ll reward the best ones with an early present from us to add to your pile.

Can’t get enough of Ruby Red
Check out our BLOG . Great stories, great photos – see what we are really up to at Ruby Red.

ECO TIP of the month:
Every year, vending machines in the UK dispense 3 billion polystyrene cups. Another 3 billion originate from other sources. Where? Where do they all come from? Is there some mad genius breeding them in underground bunkers? You can help reduce the mountain of paper and polystyrene cups that end up in landfill by using a new product called ‘I am Not a Paper Cup’. This double-walled, thermal porcelain mug is re-usable and comes with a resealable silicon lid that keeps your drinks safe and piping hot. Stop being a mug!

Meanwhile, at the market…
We’ve got a growing list of wonderful retailers but it’s down at the markets where Mike and Martine get to meet customers face-to-face and hear about what Ruby Red means to them. Last month Mike managed to spread some Ruby Red happiness across the world courtesy of a group of Korean businessmen on their way to Seoul. After sampling the range they snapped up 55 euros’ worth of stock to take back home with them. Is a Korean Ruby Red stockist the next step in our plans for (gorgeously-scented) global domination? Watch this space to find out…

Top time at Top Drawer
A huge thanks to everybody who came and saw us at the trade show at Olympia, it was great to catch up with you all and give you a sneaky peek of our brand new range. As you can see from the picture on the left, Mike and Natalie worked extremely hard…
