Diane Biggs from GOODBODIES in Westbourne, Bournemouth talks plant oils, natural beauty and what’s next for the store!
What does GOODBODIES offer the customer?
A chic boutique shopping experience – with high ceilings and large windows, Goodbodies is a pretty, light and welcoming shop. Decorated with natural clay paint, bespoke shaker style furniture and packed with loads of interesting goodies, it is very inviting to browse.
What kind of customers do you get through the doors?
My customers cover a wide age range and all walks of life. I find that many of the older ladies relate to me and are comfortable chatting about their problems – especially undoing skin damage caused over the years. I also enjoy encouraging the younger generation to use natural ingredients to preserve their beautiful young skins.
When did you first discover Ruby Red?
At the Natural and Organics Trade Show at Olympia this year – the stylish and simplistic packaging caught my eye and Martine and Mike are such delightful people, I felt I knew them well instantly. I could not believe how soft the shea butter was to use. Ruby Red products are fresh, innovative and effective – simplicity at its absolute best.
What’s next for your business?
We are going to offer beauty treatments – therapies,facials and massages – as we have a fabulous young therapist called Lisa who now works for us part time. And of course we could open another store ……

The weather may be cooling down but our social calendar is hotting up, with a whirlwind of events coming up soon:
On 13th November you’ll find us at the Luxury Shopping Day in Oxfordshire from 8.30am until 6.00pm at The Oxford Belfry Hotel at Milton Common. With all proceeds going to The Oxford Cancer Centre, there’s no better excuse to shop until you drop. Price on entry is £3, see you there!
We’ll be making an in-store appearance as Ruby Red takes to the (shop) floor at Bare Beauty’s Customer Evening on Tuesday 18th November from 7pm to 10pm. We’ll be waiting to meet you all, answer your questions on the Ruby Red range and enjoy some mulled wine. Be there at 78 High Street, Bushey.
As well as our usual stint at Cabbages and Frocks Market on Saturday 6th December, we can also be found at their Outdoor Christmas Fair at William Ellis School on Sunday 7th December 11am-4pm (by the outdoor Ice Skating Rink, Hampstead Heath), a one day Winter Fair for all the family, including the best of Cabbages and Frocks so you can continue your Christmas shopping in true festive style.
