Pure oil from the flower of the rose not only smells divine but is also great for really deep skin moisturisation.
This luxurious essential oil soothes, softens and hydrates as well as adding a gentle toning action that helps to strengthen collagen and elastin of the skin. It is this mix of collagen and elastin in your skin that helps keeps it soft, supple, radiant and young-looking, reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Its mild astringent action is effective in reducing and fading those unsightly broken capillaries and red patches when used regularly in your skin care routine. Now you know why we use it in our Face Oil.
This wonder oil is extracted from the flower of the Rosa Damascena by steam distillation and how much oil is produced, will depend on the time of harvest, the weather condition, the expertise of the distillers. On average 4,000 kilos of rose flowers will only produce 1 kilo of essential oil. You can see why this ingredient is so precious.
Collection of the flower heads begins at sunrise when the oil yield is at its highest, and needs to be completed by 10.00 am while the dew is still on the flowers. In Bulgaria, the flower begins to bloom around the third week of May, and will continue for three or four weeks depending on the weather. Blossoms are still collected by hand and collection of flowers starts as soon as the blooms begin to open and continues until all the roses have been gathered.
You will never look at roses in the same way.
